🌧️➑️🌞 “The ability to outlast the down times or the famine to get to feast will serve you well, because we all face these things.”

🌐🀝 “The network that you’re building is going to be so valuable not only in the role you’re in but no matter where you go.”

πŸŽ―πŸ’‘ “True sales excellence is not about excellent sales numbers. It’s about the value you continue to add and your ability to focus and prioritize and consistently execute. “

πŸ€”πŸ“š “You can either react to losses or the word ‘no,’ or you can learn from them.”

As I reflect on my journey in sales, I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to succeed. It’s been a ride with many highs and lows, and today, I want to share some key lessons and strategies that have helped me along the way.

When I first started in sales, my goals were pretty simple. I was driven by the excitement of making sales, the desire to earn more money, and the dream of moving up in my career. But as I got older, my focus shifted. I began to care more about long-term goals like providing for my family and building a career that I could be proud of.

Endurance and perseverance have been really important for me. In sales, you go through good times and tough times. Being able to push through the tough times has helped me get to the good times. I’ve had to adapt to many changes, like losing my job unexpectedly and having to find a new path in sales.

Building a strong network of people has been a game-changer for me. The connections I’ve made with coworkers, clients, and mentors have opened up opportunities I never imagined. One conversation can lead to a new job or a big project. These relationships have supported me and helped me grow.

In my current role at Microsoft, I help clients transform their businesses using cloud technology. It’s more than just selling products; it’s about understanding what the clients need, building trust, and finding solutions that really help them. This job lets me use all my skills and connections to make a big impact.

One of the hardest times in my career was when I didn’t meet a sales goal. It was a tough lesson, but it taught me a lot. I looked at what went wrong, made changes, and worked harder. This experience showed me that setbacks can lead to growth if you’re willing to learn from them.

My daily routine is all about balance and improvement. I start my day early at the gym to clear my mind. Then, I catch up on industry news and plan my day. I make sure every meeting and interaction is meaningful, and I always look for ways to add value and move closer to my goals.

For those just starting in sales, my advice is to learn as much as you can. Watch and learn from the successful people around you. Take on challenges and be open to learning. For those who are further along but want to be even better, remember that greatness comes from continuously improving and stepping out of your comfort zone.

My journey in sales is about more than just numbers. It’s about personal growth, learning, and building relationships that last. I aim to make a positive difference in the lives of my clients, my company, and my community. As I keep growing, I hope to inspire others to pursue their own paths to success.
